2005
Start of research
Tomo begins researching paint protection coatings for the automotive industry, which leads to the development of first coatings, that would later become Modesta.
2007
Tomo & Akihiro meet
The later founders of Modesta - Akihiro Shynmio and Tomo Kashino - meet for the first time in Japan to discuss business opportunities.
2008
First shop in Australia
Tomo opens his first detailing shop on the Gold Coast, Australia, to test paint coatings under real life conditions.
2009
Founding of Modesta Co. Ltd.
The head company of the Modesta group is officially incorporated in Takamatsu, Japan and soon starts to operate in coating manufacture.
2009
Release of BC-01
The Modesta BC-01 coating is released. It is the first product offered under the Modesta brand, and is still available on the market until today.
2010
Release of BC-02
Soon the second coating of our line up - Modesta BC-02 - is released. It marks the first Modesta coating that includes titanium. Same as BC-01, it is still available today.

Release of BC-03
After years of research, the Modesta BC-03 coating is released. The chemical substance of this coating shall become a staple that Modesta will build its global expansion on.

Release of BC-05
This release marks the biggest breakthrough for the Modesta product line up in terms of technology and global success, and until today is one of the most installed coatings worldwide.
2012
Michael joins Modesta
Our marketing director Michal joins Tomo and Akihiro to support international expansion and soon becomes a partner at the company.
2012
Expansion into the European Union
Under the leadership of Michael, Modesta expands into the European Union and shall soon become a leading player in the paint protection coating market worldwide.
2013
PlusCon 2013 Bratislava
The very first PlusCon conference is held at Modesta Europe headquarters in Bratislava, Slovakia. It marks a new approach to seminars in the detailing industry that other manufacturers would follow.

Release of BC-04
The BC-04 Nano-Titanium Glass Coating is released and quickly becomes the most installed product of the whole range and would stay so for many years to come.

Expansion into the USA
Modesta enters the North American market with the first US distribution. It marks a milestone of the global expansion and USA soon should become one of the leading markets worldwide.

Release of BC-09
As a alternative to BC-06, the BC-09 HI-PHPS coating - the hand applied wheel coating - is released.
2015
Release of the "M" line
The maintenance line and procedures were restructured with the release of the "M" line of products - the maintenance line, including M2, M3, M4 and M5.

PlusCon 2015 Washington
The 2nd PlusCon conference is held in Washington D.C., USA. It is the first of the PlusCon events series to be held on the North American continent.

Release of LPS
Modesta releases the Leather Protection System, a complex and unique, two phase leather treatment system, consisting of LPS-01 which provides a barrier for contamination and LPS-02 which provides abrasion reduction.

Expansion in the Middle East
Modesta opens the first franchise shop in the Middle East region in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, which marks the long anticipated expansion in the GCC countries.

PlusCon 2016 Rotterdam
The 3rd PlusCon conference is held in Rotterdam, The Netherlands at Clean=Clean, the national distributor headquarters for Benelux. It is to date already the second PlusCon event held in Europe.

Release of BC-08
The BC-08 Neosillica Matrix Coating - an easy to apply paint protection coating targeted at shorter durability of up to 3 years - is released, initially in the North American market with other territories to follow a year later.

Release of EPC
Modesta releases the EPC Exterior Plastic Coating for the treatment of and providing protection and rejuvenation to exterior plastic trims and surfaces.
2018
PlusCon 2018 Salt Lake City, USA
The 4th Modesta PlusCon 2018 conference is held in North America at Luxe Automotive in Salt Lake City, USA, marking the second PlusCon event to be held on the North American continent.
2019
Release of EGC
Shortly after the PlusCon 2019 event, Modesta releases the long anticipated EGC - Exterior Glass Coating, a hydrophobic exterior glass treatment.

PlusCon 2019 Budapest, Hungary
The 5th Modesta PlusCon 2019 conference is held in the heart of Europe - at the Ritz-Carlton Hotel in Budapest, Hungary.
